The coronavirus disease has threatened individuals and families, unlike any virus before it. For all the technological and medical advancement society has made, these advances have fallen short of treating COVID-19 swiftly and decisively.

For now, as you wait for a cure and a vaccine, you can protect yourself and your family with simple soap, good hygienic practices, and a home air purifier system in your St. George house.

Know Your Enemy

Coronavirus is a kind of virus that causes a range of illnesses. A coronavirus gives you a common cold. You can also contract SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) from a coronavirus. In particular, COVID-19 comes from a certain coronavirus that had only been identified in 2019.

Wounds from the Enemy

Once a person has been infected by COVID-19, a number of symptoms distinguish the illness. The person will suffer from fever, a dry cough, shortness of breath, breathing complications, and other respiratory signs.

In more severe infections, the person may experience organ failure, pneumonia, and even death.

Your Weapons

washing handsWith such a disease threatening Utah and the rest of the United States, you can arm yourself and your family to fight it in the meantime. You simply need an air purifier, soap and water, bleach, isopropyl alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide. The list below will help how each product protects you.

Clean the Air

A home air purifier system in your house will clear the air of large pollutants. You can breathe fresh, clean air for a clear mind and healthy body. To be clear, however, contrary to claims of manufacturers, an air-purifying unit will only filter out significant pollutants, not microscopic particles such as a coronavirus.

Despite that caveat, a purifying unit can still be of great help in protecting you during this time.

Wash, Wash, Wash

Your main line of defense instead lies with the humble soap and water. Wash your hands for 20 seconds. Take frequent baths. The soap will break the coronavirus down for the water to wash away. After your hand washing and bathing, you can throw your towels in the washing machine for cleaning with bleach, your other protector.

Throw in your clothes too, while you’re at it.

Disinfect with Alcohol

For the rest of your house, you can disinfect using at least 70% isopropyl alcohol. The coronavirus will be unsafe on surfaces around your home then. Wipe surfaces with water and detergent first. You can then apply the alcohol and leave it to disinfect.

Careful in using alcohol on plastics and wooden furniture, however.

Disinfect with Hydrogen Peroxide

Finally, for hard-to-reach parts of your house, you can use 3% hydrogen peroxide. Spray it onto corners and other crooks and crannies. Leave the chemical to disinfect, which it would do safely even on metal surfaces. The chemical simply breaks down into oxygen and water after some time.

Keep it away from fabrics, however, since it will likely discolor them.

Be Armed and Ready

With the weapons and protectors above, you and your family can stay home without worries. A vaccine and a cure may be what the world needs to end COVID-19, but simple protection can be enough for now as you stay home, work, and be with family.
